Summerfest

Today we went to an annual festival in a neighboring town. We mostly like to check out the cars at the car shows, our boys have never been interested in the jumping games, and now that they are older we don't even have walk that isle. Luckily because it was desert hot. We got a couple of drinks but it was too hot for food and honestly we didn't stay long. We talked to a few guys we knew, then headed out.
Mustang..ya know we have to have a shot of at least one of them.

this truck was pretty tall, the guy was friendly and gave us info on a local club that does some off roading
rat rods are just cool, they show imagination and skill, they are like rusty works of art.

Mud Bog

We heard about this mud bog going on this weekend, Kyle, Adam, Joseph, Celi and I all jumped in the suburban and headed out. we would have drove the jeep, but we had too many people
Celi did really well, she stayed on the blanket I put down or sat in her stroller. We bought food and drinks, she seemed to enjoy them all. She liked watching the trucks

This little jeep was the first to hit the mud, he went about 20 feet and just stopped, he sure spit up a bunch of mud and I'm sure he had a good time

It was a good time, we stayed till the end, alot of people left early, but the night cooled off so nicely, Celi fell asleep in her stroller and we were still having a good time

Day trip to the Gorge

On a whim we decided to take Kyle and his girlfriend to the river, Richard and I had just been up there a week earlier and we were both just waiting for an excuse to go back up. The area is beautiful and if you are on the right roads you might be the only one on those roads all day. The river itself is different from what we have in our area, the rocks are huge, the water can get so deep it seems like black holes.

Kyle was searching for the right spot to jump in, we made sure he found the right spot that was plenty deep. They had a ball jumping in together then one at a time. We asked the girlfriend if she wanted to stop and pick up a swimsuit before we headed out and she said she always swims in jeans..so that's what she did.
We got out when a surprise shower came up over the mountain. We got to the jeep and got our stuff loaded back in just before it started pouring, but since we were in the jeep we were getting wet regardless.

we stopped at this overlook to dry things off a little and put on warmer clothes. We stopped and got a bite to eat at a small country cooking place, we just love those and the food was great.
On the way home it got cold and poured the last 45 minutes home, the kids were drenched. We had the heat on but with no doors it didn't do much. Needless to say we had a great day regardless of how unprepared we were for rain.

The Gulches 4th of July Night Ride

we rode out to the  http://www.gulchesorvpark.com/
they were having there annual 4th of July Night Ride
it was a super hot day, luckily we got some breeze without the top or doors on

 she's still clean
the hill behind the jeep we climbed first thing

we drove up and down this set of small but steep hills going down to a muddy bottom, this is where alot of the mud come from, we baha'd through it.

this is an extreme hill climb, you must have complete roll cage and helmet, needless to say, we did not climb it

 a little muddy

we stopped at the creek for a swim

fireworks at dark, she's muddy now, inside and out. We are all muddy
The crew, we all had a good time
the start of the night ride, there were at least 20 vehicles, mostly jeeps, we took the paths backwards, so it was a real difference from the trails during the day. It was going to be an easy trail ride, but we ended up going through double black and triple black trails backwards, these are the hardest trails minus the ones that require full rollcage. I was scared in a few spots, we were on two wheels more then once.
