Carpeting interior of Cobra

Take a look guys, the last time you will see her naked. So since I carpeted the trunk I figured I needed to carpet the interior as well so It wouldn't look funny. First I took the seats out, then the seat belts and the shift cover.

I insulated the whole interior to help with road noise and heat in the cockpit. I spray painted all the seams black so if the seams are not perfect the shiny insulation will not show through.

I laid the carpet out, so I could figure the best way to lay the carpet. Really the carpet in places does not look like it will all go where it should, but in the end with some minor cutting (probably because we already have the body on the car) it all fits nicely.

see my toes, this was all done by me, while my hubby was at work, no noone can tease us because we didn't carpet the interior.

My seat back in, I really didn't get any good shots of the carpet done, but I will be sure to get them.

Carpeting Trunk in Cobra

Since the guys put in the new trunk we decided it needed to be carpeted. I think it would also cover up any imperfections in there cuts, not that there are any of course. So I took some measurements and cut the carpet we bought from our local building supply store and carefully pieced it all together.

The guys had spray painted the edges in case some of the carpet did not have tight seams you would not notice the bright aluminum underneath.

The way I layed the carpet I thought would be best so none of the seams were on the hard edges, they are all in the box, so they won't come apart by putting things in the trunk.

Now, I can do this because this is my project, but I would recommend guys use there own books or ask pretty please. they made good weights.

Installing drop down trunk in Cobra

Chad and Richard took turns cutting out the floor, they had to get creative in the tight areas since this was done after the body was on the car. To get the cutting started they had to drill a hole to get the blade into the metal.

The hole is cut and ready for the drop box to go in.

The edges are trimmed and the rivets cleaned up. the trunk is finished.

This will give us alot more room when we travel and take road trips.

Projects

I bought these cases at a thrift store last week. I am looking to alter them, but have not decided it I will use fabric, paper, etc.

This one has great pockets inside, I'm excited to make it even prettier. I also picked up this nice blue case, I'm thinking of altering it as well.

This is my first quilt top I've ever made, I still need to put a backing on it, but really do not have the room to lay it out, I do need to finish it. It has stars and stripes with red, blue and cream colors.
