Christmas Morning

Richard had to work Christmas day, so we stayed the night at my mom's on the 23rd and woke up and did all our Christmas with them Christmas Eve.

Mom got bears, dad got a new gun.

Every year, the boys tell Kyle they are buying him a baby doll, because he asks constantly what he's getting. So this year, Chad bought him a baby doll as a gag gift, you can see Kyle is thrilled.

Christmas dinner with my family

We had Christmas dinner with my family at my cousin Carrie's house this year. We hope to have our house done enough to have it at our house next year.
We always exchange handmade gifts, except for the kids, we usually buy them some toys. Uncle Reg and Aunt Sheila made us a popcorn bowl this year, we just love it. Carrie & Dave gave us a popcorn basket, with a popcorn maker. It's great.

Gift exchange with friends

This year we did a gift exchange with our friends, we also played some Christmas games. The game we played: in teams of two, we had to tie two hands together and try to wrap a gift with the other two free hands, the winner had the best wrapped package. Chad and Kyle won.

Every year we get together with Richards family and have dinner. Then we go back to Uncle Bill's house and listen to the brothers tell stories of when they were young.

Visiting Florida for Thanksgiving

We went down to visit with my Gramma's for Thanksgiving. We stopped at my Gramma Prestons first and had a nice little visit with Gramma, Rick, Renee and Nike. Rick made us dinner, we really needed it too.

We stayed in a town nearby then drove onto Tampa the next day.

Gramma was working during the days when we were there so we took a trip to see the Manatee's and we went to the beach. It was very windy and chilly

Here's Richard just hanging out

This is dad and Gramma looking at pictures

Here's the gang in the living room

Gramma is stuffing the turkey. We had a great dinner. Aunt Shiela, Uncle Reg, Brad, and Eric all came.

Paint Class

The boys took a painting class with Sydney. They had the option of drawing a horse or this cat. They both chose the cat because the background was brick. Chad's is the top one and Cory's is the bottom painting. I have them hung up in our living room.

Playing at Home

The boys got out there toys and played in the side yard. They have made a track around two large pine trees that they ride around. In the middle is a RC track for thier gas RC cars.

I thought I would catch a shot of them playing.

We took the kids bowling with a homeschool group. My aunt Sheila brought her three grandkids.

They all had a great time.

they don't see each other very often. It's good to see them cutting up together.

Tallulah Gorge

We organized a homeschool field trip to Tallulah Gorge GA. Only one other family signed up to go, so we brought my parents along.

Mason and Sydney brought along a tennis net.

Don't let the miserable look on Chad's face fool you, he had a good time. He just thought it was stupid that I made him get out of the truck and stand by this sign.

The views were beautiful. Stephanie and Jim walked with the kids to the bottom of the Gorge, but we stayed behind to listen to the bluegrass band.

You could walk out to see down the gorge, but it was a long walk to the bottom, the guys were beat when they got back up.

The falls were amazing

This would have been a great picture had he not been such a goof

This was the bluegrass band. We also went one night to listen to some locals play bluegrass. i was amazed by the talent. Everyone of them played wonderful, and they all played together just as well.

We found a bridge to walk over. There was a trail on the other side, but it was already getting towards dusk, so we only went as far as the other side of the bridge.

Dad and the boys walked out to the middle of the creek.

This was a little overlook and gift shop. We stopped to see the view of the falls below. Dad ran into an old friend from NY. How funny.

Here the guys are checking out the moonshine cars

These are old moonshiners, making some moonshine. I'm not really sure what they had in there, but it was sure working like a still

These guys were getting bored so they found some rocks to climb on.
