Car work

Shelby just keeps getting bigger, she's 5 months now and weighs 40.5 lbs. I took her to the vet a few days ago since she still has urinary infection. This is our second trip to the vet to treat the same thing. I am thinking of switching vets. She should have checked for other items since it did not clear up with the last drugs she gave.

I set up our dehydrator trays with jerky for the guys trip, It will take 8 hours to finish. I used a soy recipe and a bbq recipe.

I picked some pears while in the yard. I had planned to make a chunky salsa, but am having trouble finding the green tomatoes I need.
Chad's interior is in and the door panel is painted, it matches great and will work till he decides what to do with the panels.
Richard and Kyle did some work on the boat to get it ready for the shrimping trip. They are heading to Edisto Island on Wednesday for five days. They are hoping to bring back lots of shrimp.

Chad decided to spray paint the door panels since switching them would not work. The other door panels are for electric windows and the blue Mustang has roll up windows, so Chad would have to cut a hole and the inside of the door would show, so instead he went with spray painting them for now.

The boys friend Jeremiah stopped by to look at Chad's car for the first time. He is the president of their car club and wanted to let them know about an upcoming meeting.

The motor is in

Chad and Cory got the motor put in Chad's blue Mustang tonight. He has made tons of progress but still has a lot of work to do.

Chad painted the valve covers and oil pan bright orange, it's a nice contrast to the blue of the car.

Now he needs to get a fan, battery and radiator.

Night work on Chad's car

Chad and Cory looking at the suspension air bags and figuring out how they are installed. Chad was excited to get a sticker with them, since they were new. Everything else he's bought so far didn't come with any. lol
After they installed these they put the tires on and moved it out of the way. Next they took the rear end out of my car and replaced it with better gears and converted it to five lugs so I can put on my new rims. By dark they had that finished and put the Cobra back in the garage, moved the orange car in front of the garage and started to pull the motor out. I was able to help them some with this, making sure they were staying safe. I know I can't help it, it's a mom thing.

Here's the orange Mustang without it's motor. Chad really liked the way it ran, so that's why he decided to put everything from the orange Mustang into the Blue one. He is thinking of making a full blown racer out of the orange Mustang.
The motor is now sitting in the garage, Chad has to take some stuff off it and change out a few things. He plans to have it in the blue Mustang this weekend.

Another day at home

I bought a pretty jar to put my homemade laundry soap in. Richard and Kyle helped me grate the bars of soap that went in it. We've started using it with good results.

Kyle doing some math and Shelby staying close. She's so spoiled
Chad has the rear end painted and ready to put it in the car. He painted it black and took his time getting it just right.
The front wheels are on. Chad is starting to like the blue on this car, he will keep it that color for a while. It does need the windows tinted, but it is a nice car.

Under the hood

Chad welded a plate where the a/c would go in, then he painted it to give it a finished look. He also painted the rear end and the wheel wall. He has been working non stop on his car, he really wants to get it done. Plus they've had time to work on the other cars that have needed work as well.

More work on Cars

Chad removing front suspension to add new K member.

This is Cory's car with the interior back in. He took seats we had out of another car, since his seats had a few rips in them.

Work continues

This is the inside of Chad's car, he has the interior all pulled out to switch it with the grey interior from the orange car. He has also installed a roll cage. He fit it and welded it in place.

This is the interior in Cory's car, he is switching motors. This car started out as a automatic and he is putting a 5 speed in it.

Working on cars

The boys have been working really hard on there cars lately. today they pulled the motor out of Chad's car. Know that he has the insurance money from the other car he's ordered the parts he needs and can finally get his car put together.
They did a good job of getting the motor out, no problems with this one. They did have to buy a new cylinder for the engine lift since the last one was no longer working.

Here it is empty for now, he has more stuff to pull off and a hole to cover, this should keep him busy for awhile.

Chad's car

Chad has started pulling stuff out of the new Mustang we bought so he can put all the stuff from his old Mustang into it. This one started off as a 4 cylinder but he will have it turned into a 5.0 when he gets done.

This is the original motor still in the car, he will replace this one with the one from his other car.

Sliding Rock

We took a day trip to Sliding Rock. Sliding Rock is in the Pisgah Forest of NC outside of Brevard. The water at Sliding Rock is 50* year round. So it is always freezing, and the warmer it is outside, the colder the water feels. Usually you get dried off just in time to go back down. It's like going into shock when you hit the pool at the bottom and your whole body goes under. Then you realize the water is 8ft deep and you have to swim back to the side.
It was a wonderful day, weather was about 80* which was great for those of us just watching. It took awhile for all of them to get in, but eventually they all did. They never turned blue, they all turned pink.

This is standing at the bottom of the rock, these railings come in handy for climbing back up the rock.

Chad is shivering like crazy.

They started going down two at a time, racing to see who could get to the bottom first

Then three at a time
Here they are finished for the day, but not really ready to get out, they are standing at the top of the rock. Cory is looking awful cold.
