Annual cat fishing trip

The guys are back from their annual cat fishing trip, where they go spend a week on an island with no running water (this means time as they walk in the door everyone wants to give me a big hug) in a tent, eating lots of deep fried food ( i hear even the hotdogs are deep fried) Here are the pics the guys came back with, looks like they only took some on this one day. It was very foggy early in the morning. They did well, came home with a cooler full of catfish. They had a great time. I think it really helped for Kyle to take a friend along. He really enjoyed it and helped Kyle see that it is a good time, not a chore to go.

In this pic before the treeline starts is a gator, so they tell me. Adam (Kyle's friend) was surprised to see so many of them during the week.

For the first time, they had a total of four boys there all around the same age. Richard said they all got along fine.
Adam was daring Kyle to eat one of the hotdogs (the bait) off the line. I don't think he actually did though.

The boys did alot of goofing off and just having a good time being boys. They will be able to talk of the fun they had for years to come, this will be the good ole days for them.

Boat Tour, Edisto Island

Today we took a boat tour and saw some of the same homes we saw on the carriage ride, but this time from the water. We also stopped to watched many dolphin and even got a few shots, they were fun to watch.

These are beautiful houses with great water views.

This is the bridge that leads from Beaufort to Lady Lake, It turns for boats, we never got to see it though.

These were boats at dock on lady lake, we could see them on the boat ride we took, i love to see all the poles in the air.

This is the pontoon we rode on, It was not too crowded today, and with a breeze it was a nice ride even thought the temp was over 100

Love the picture of these shrimp boats in the sunset.

We drove around just to sightsee, these creeks that run through the marsh are such a nice picture.

We stopped at this post office as we were aproaching edisto island. it's a quaint tiny one.

We saw turtle nesting sites, looks like some eggs have already been laid.

They have areas posted to keep people out for the turtles.

It was a very hot day at the beach, not too many people where there when we stopped, this is the only time we where able to get to Edisto.
These boats where docked at the Beaufort dock, and this pic is from the road as it curves around the water.

water pumps, jerky and carpet

After months of checking and adding water to the yellow Suburban we finally bought a water pump for it. Cory and Chad installed it yesterday but it was still leaking so today they had to take everything back off and see what was causing the leak.
Chad took the black carpet out of the orange Mustang. He had to vacuum it before putting it in the blue Mustang. It still had glass pieces all over it from the accident. It was not glass from Chad's car but from the other car, that's how hard they hit.
Chad got the carpet in the car, then the dash, now it's time to hook up all those plugs and wires, the fun part.
Getting ready for the shrimping trip, Richard has been working on his boat when he has a chance, adding lights and a deck to throw the net from. I thought it would be good for them to have some homemade snacks to take along so I am marinating some meat that we will put in the dehydrator and make jerky out of. They love jerky.
Kyle had a flat tire on his bike coming home from a ride last night, so he found a new tire today and replaced it.
Cory was working on his instrument cluster, getting the fuel gauge to work correctly.

I made this rabbit hutch last year, as you can see it has weathered as I never got to sealing it when it was finished. So today Kyle treated it for me so it won't rot away. I am hoping to get some rabbits to fill it back up, but I need to put a wire bottom on it first, as this is what happened to the last rabbits. We believe the fox got to them, but one must have gotten away since we've seen it running around with the wild bunnies. I had read not to catch rabbits that have gotten loose, so we've just let him go. Not sure if it is a disease thing or what, but I imagine he is happy to be wild.
