Today we took a ride in our Cobra, mom and dad in their vette; Chad and Casey in the Mustang. We rode to Strawberry Hill for homemade ice cream, the best around. Then we rode up to the mountains. We stopped at Pretty Place. it was a nice ride, Richard had to be at work by 6pm so we had to hurry back, I would have loved to spend more time out. The further in the mountains we got the cooler it got, It was a nice change from our exteme heat. I really need the break too, it seems like we have been running ragged for months now.

Granparents? Now?
well, it's now official, we have visual proof that we are going to be grandparents. Chad and Casey are expecting a baby in March. We surely were not expecting this, but we are trying to be positive about it. It's going to be a long journey, we are trying to be supportive and as helpful as we can be.
She's hoping for a girl, but I believe boys are easier, or at least quieter. We are working on getting the house done before the little one arrives so we have more room. Check out our progress on our land blog.

Annual cat fishing trip
The guys are back from their annual cat fishing trip, where they go spend a week on an island with no running water (this means time as they walk in the door everyone wants to give me a big hug) in a tent, eating lots of deep fried food ( i hear even the hotdogs are deep fried) Here are the pics the guys came back with, looks like they only took some on this one day. It was very foggy early in the morning. They did well, came home with a cooler full of catfish. They had a great time. I think it really helped for Kyle to take a friend along. He really enjoyed it and helped Kyle see that it is a good time, not a chore to go.
The boys did alot of goofing off and just having a good time being boys. They will be able to talk of the fun they had for years to come, this will be the good ole days for them.

My Birthday
Kyle's new 4X4
Well the time has finally come to get Kyle a vehicle. He has set his sights on a truck, so today we went out to take a second look at this one. It is raised up some and does need some work, but he really likes it so we bought it from a real country boy and brought it home.

Richard test drove it, and also drove it home, it was kinda funny seeing him in this big truck, but Kyle is so excited about it. He and his friend took the stickers off the window that Chris had put on to advertise his selling price. The poor guy was very sad to see his truck go, but I know that Kyle will enjoy it and take good care of it.

Mt Pleasant Kayak Paddle
After Kyle's
summer camp, they invited the kids back to take the paddle they were unable to take due to rain during the camp week. So Kyle and I drove down to Mt. Pleasant, he and Anita and one other boy from camp paddled out to the island with there camp counselor and some others he invited to the paddle. They all had a good time, Kyle did forget to apply sunscreen, so he was a little pink, but he never complained. After the paddle we went back to Anita's for a visit and then our three hour drive home. It was a very long day, but I am glad he was able to go.
